This week in fourth grade students saw a video and read about Rosa Parks.Students have been creating essential questions in conjunction with the reading. These questions enhance critical thinking and deeper thought processes.We will begin discussing and developing support questions soon. Next week the students will be presenting their version¬† of Freedom Train! A reader’s theater that discusses Harriet Tubman. After which they will be reading about Mary and John Jones. They will learn how primary sources and artifacts can support understanding about a time period in which they lived. The fifth graders enjoyed the Roman mythology stories and have begun creating their own mythology cartoon strips.Students will continue to focus on Rome’s many facets.
