This week in fourth grade students have been reading, A Bronzeville Story. This historical fiction describes the journey a family takes to Chicago during The Great Migration. Students have been creating essential questions in conjunction with the story.Next week students will be reading about Rosa Parks and the readers theater story,Escape to Freedom. This play discusses the dangers and challenges that Harriet Tubman endured. The fifth graders have been fascinated with Mt. Vesuvius in Pompeii. They have written a newspaper article from the perspective of a reporter who was there during the event. Next week fifth graders will continue exploring the many facets of Rome.
